It seems like ages since i last went to any Tajwid classes. But there i was yesterday, reading from an Iqra' book. Spelling my way through short sentences of Al-Quran verses. Just saying Alif Ba Ta back seems surreal. I went yesterday thinking that it would be easy..but boy i was wrong. I thought I know how to read Al-Quran, but yesterday was an eye opener. I maybe know how to read.. but it is far from perfect.
Do yourself a favor, make it perfect. I know i have a long way to go. But it has to start somewhere..

World Cup 2006 - Australia team
Australian is going berserk over their soccer team playing in World Cup 2006. There are advertisements and campaigns everywhere, newspaper and magazine producing the pictures and stickers giveaway of their Socceroo team everyday.
This is them.
This is definitely NOT them. He..he..he…
Cheers.

Da Vinci Code
Da Vinci Code is making its first debut in Australia today. The earliest show was 7.30 am this morning. I heard Tom Hanks will be around. Gee.. if it’s like 4 years ago, I think I’ll be the first to jump in the queue for the ticket, but those days were over. With 2 children..nah.. I don’t think so. Nevertheless.. no regret.
If you don’t know what I am talking about, "The Da Vinci Code" movie is based on Dan Brown's thrillers starring Harvard professor of iconography and religious art Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks). It’s about the murder of a highly respected curator in the Louvre in Paris. So the journey began, uncovering the truth behind the murder and at the same time breaking the code to locate the Holy Grail. I won’t elaborate much..go see for yourself or read the book.. or do both.
I hope the movie is as good as the book. Already it created so much controversy. Too bad for those movie goers in Thailand, I heard they are going to snip the last 10 minutes of the show.. It’s like you are in the middle of your favorite show and the suddenly the electricity went off.. so frustrating...However, not as bad as in India, there’s the protest and demonstration against the movie, and one extremist actually has put up a cash reward for the murder of Dan Brown, author of the book on which the movie is based. Ha.. crazy…what’s next? Bomb the movie theater?? I hope it doesn't go that far… Lucky for you guys in Malaysia, the censorship board decided not to interfere with the release of the film. So go enjoy it.
Quoting the director Ron Howard, "Do not go and see the movie if you think you will be upset. This is supposed to be entertainment. It stimulates conversation, that is what good fiction does."

Mother's Day : The Card, The Gift and The Celebration...
As i told you in my last entry, Amirah made me a handmade card and gift, with the kinder teacher's help of course. It's so sweet..she came back home and handed me the nicely wrapped gift and the mother's day card. Touched.
Handdrawn by Amirah. Is that suppose to be me?
Grocery bag decorated with tiny palm print. Guess whose hand is that?
Close up to the cute hand :P
