Romancing the Tulips

The tulip came to Australia with the love of Cees and Johanna Tesselaar. The couple left Holland on their wedding day just before the start of WWII. Johanna’s parents were bulb growers and Kees’ father worked in a bulb auction house. Their dream was to bring the flower of their affection to their new home. Settling in Silvan their dream came true. They have been able to share their dream and show off their love, a love that extends through generations.

There are but a few weeks of the year when we can share this love affair and you can witness these masses of magical colour and brilliance. A love affair which has been getting bigger and better for 52 years! So release yourself from the droll of everyday life and fall in love again at Tesselaar Tulip Festival …

Okay.. that's what was written on the brochure masa kitorang pegi this festival... So if you have any plan to be in Melbourne and love tulips, then come here around mid September to Mid October... there are but a few weeks of the year when the tulips bloom...

Ramadhan datang lagi..

Alhamdulillah... tahun ni masih lagi sempat merasa Ramadhan ...

Feels the same.. just that tahun ni cabaran berbeza .. kena menyediakan juadah berbuka without the help of 'Pasar Ramadhan'. I guess tahun ni semua homemade..hmm... but we sure gonna miss tepung pelita .. huhuhu..

For all my Muslim readers.. Selamat menyambut Ramadhan. Semoga bulan mulia ni kita perbanyakkan ibadat.

Long overdue post sebenarnye ni... dah lama dah upload gambar.. tapi still in draft mode ..until today :P ..

Sajer jer nak cerita aku dah reti buat sushi .. i first thought sushi making was very difficult .. it turned out VERY simple.. macam masak nasik biasa jer .. cuma the rolling part was a bit tricky if you are first timer.. he..he.. berterabur nak gulung.. It took me a while, but practice makes perfect! .. But of course there are different types of sushi ..the easiest to make is a maki or roll... tu yang aku rasa senang kot..he..he.. sebab buat sushi yang level beginner .. :)
Usually i will put crab stick, avocado and cucumber .. Nak carik salmon pulak lepas ni ...

Both Amirah and Ihsan love sushi so much so memang rasa berbaloi buat. And if you've enjoyed eating sushi too, don't be put off by its food-as-art reputation - try making it yourself. All you need are the right ingredients and plenty of patience! Good luck.

Bz sket lately ni.. parents ada kat rumah .. so sibuk dok bawak diorang jalan2.. malam ni flight diorang balik Malaysia, after 2 weeks kat sini.. wish they stayed longer tho..

Edisi Merdeka

Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan yang ke ehem.. (jap google jap...) okay 49th ...

Sama jer merdeka bagi aku ni kat mana2 pun .. kat Malaysia maybe rasa best sket kot sebab cuti kot... else, sama jer... huh... tak patriotik sungguh aku ni ... maybe i should read more books about history of those pahlawan2 (Mat Kilau, Leftenan Adnan.. hmm sapa lagi ye *think hard* from buku sejarah form 3 dulu ...he..he.. ) yang bebaskan Malaysia dari penjajah ni instead all those tak releven buku2 cerita ..he..he.. yeah... i know .. i took our freedom for granted. I guess you can never truly embrace the real meaning of freedom when it is inherited... or when it is not your fight ... or when you learnt that hari merdeka is more synonym with meaningless jeritan "merdeka..merdeka.." kat dataran merdeka... or the fireworks or the perarakan merdeka... it's sad on how we are losing the real meaning of merdeka... *sigh* .. or maybe it's just me....

Okay.. quickly moving on to happier note .. Amirah just won tempat pertama for Pertandingan Pakaian Beragam Kebangsaan for Hari Merdeka organized by Kelab Dewan Malaysia Melbourne. Yay for Amirah!

So as usual.. entry aku ni tak sah kalau takde gambar ... who else.. kalau tak Taufiq, Amirah.. tak Amirah .... Taufiq pulak ... I'm short of models for my blog lah :P ... Any takers?
